| International Students' Meetings: fresh Ideas for a more sustainable Opera |
On May 14th and May 21st Project Butterfly’s Journey with Students reached its final step, with the conclusion of the International Students’ Meeting cycle. The high school students - from Italy, Poland and Finland - employed AI-powered digital technologies to deliver audiovisual opera stories about sustainability with the support of the Project Butterfly Consortium. The students expressed positive feedback on the overall co-creative process, which allowed them to experiment with opera storytelling, enrich their perspectives on sustainability issues and exchange ideas with fellow students in the broader European environment. Their ideas and perspectives will fuel the creation of a sustainable Opera, which will see the lights of the stage in Spring 2025, on the occasion of the three European premieres in Modena, Gdańsk and Helsinki.

Kiev Students: spotlight Climate Change with a song about Sustainability |
The International Student Meetings represented the perfect chance to showcase and give prominence to the work of School #16 from Kiev, whose students created an inspiring sustainability song. Ukraine is home to a diverse ecosystem, rich with forests, botanical gardens and natural reserves. However, its natural heritage is constantly threatened by the increase in the number of landfills and the high level of air pollution. Punctuated by the dramatic sound of the saxophone, the song's lyrics aim at raising awareness about the issue of climate change and the importance of developing an ecological mindset.
