Upcoming events and information at the Burnaby Neighbourhod House

These past few weeks, Community Garden volunteers eagerly gathered for the bountiful harvest, while seniors joyfully painted garden boxes at the community hall, adding vibrant hues to the neighbourhood. Meanwhile dedicated volunteers and staffs are starting to set up the Toy Room for the Burnaby Christmas Bureau.

Youth Employment Program

Next cohort starts October 23, 2023



It is a 9-week program that aims to help youth overcome barriers to employment through providing career training, skills development workshops, employment counselling, job search strategies and work experience with local employers!

The Youth Employment Program, under the umbrella of the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) is funded by Service Canada and aims to work with youth aged 16-30 years old, who are looking to return to the work force.

Would you like learn to use email, create files and documents, use excel, search the Internet or practice typing and writing skills on a computer? Volunteer Computer Instructors are available to help community residents with their computer learning needs. We offer support in multiple languages.

Stretching and Meditation

Fridays- 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at The Amazing Brentwood



We are excited to announce this new class exploring holistic stretching and meditation techniques that combines motion and inaction to cultivate both the interior and exterior of the body. Much like Qi Gong, in this practice you will learn a set of exercises known for rejuvenating and energizing.

With minimal instruction, participants can easily follow along and gradually understand the movements.

Qi Gong is a personal practice that led to fitness, flexibility, and internal peace that combines the physical benefits of exercise with the spiritual qualities of meditation, leading to full nourishment of both mind and body.
