| With the Open Call deadline behind us and autumn's arrival, we extend our gratitude for the tremendous response. Thank you to all composers who submitted their work and ideas.
Project Butterfly is excited to enter this season with renewed enthusiasm and inspiration. Stay tuned as we prepare for an exciting and creative autumn ahead! 🍃 |

We are excited to announce that the Open Call for Composers has successfully concluded with applications from composers throughout Europe, each characterized by their own style. At present, all applications are under eligibility checks. A Selection Committee will choose two compositions for each language based on quality and merit. The selected compositions will then proceed to the next phase, in which our partners - Teatro Comunale di Modena, Opera Bałtycka, and Opera Box - will play a crucial role in selecting the winners.
We extend our gratitude to all the talented individuals who submitted their works, whose participation and support are invaluable as we embark on this journey.

Furthermore, we are excitedly informing you that Project Butterfly will participate in the exhibition of the opera's genesis at Ars Electronica in 2025. |

Project Butterly's collaboration with schools: First meeting with students in Modena |
|
Project Butterfly has entered its "Sustainability and Opera Workshops in School" phase, collaborating with schools in Italy, Poland, and Finland thanks to the cooperation and support of the environmental agency AESS. On the 20th of September, representatives of AESS, faculty, and students met at Pavarotti-Freni Municipal Theater to witness the first dress rehearsal of the first opera of the season. |
|
During the meeting, Alessandro Roveri, the project coordinator, explained the historical significance of the theater space to the students while also teaching them how the opera production system functions. Further meetings and workshops with students will be held in the near future, advancing gradually toward the fulfillment of Project Butterfly's goals.
