U.S. Coast Guard coordinates search and rescue operations, tow for distressed vessel Mama Loling

In response to a distress call from the operator of the 39-foot motor vessel Mama Loling reporting engine overheating, the U.S. Coast Guard Forces Micronesia/Sector Guam successfully coordinated a search and rescue operation resulting in the vessel arriving safely in Saipan on Sep. 1. Cmdr. Ryan Crose, the U.S. Coast Guard search and rescue mission coordinator, emphasized the commitment to safety and efficient rescue efforts, highlighting the deep connection of the mariners with the ocean and their vital role within their community.



U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Munro Visits South Korea

During the visit, Munro hosted several members of the Korea Coast Guard for a tour and lunch. The group also held a planning meeting to discuss operations and plan the joint at-sea engagement.

U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Munro Visits Republic of Korea





The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Munro (WMSL 755) wrapped up its scheduled port visit in Gwangyang, Republic of Korea, during the 70th anniversary of the United States-Republic of Korea alliance. During the visit, Munro engaged in various activities and exchanges with the Korea Coast Guard, including joint at-sea engagements, fostering professional and cultural relationships while enhancing maritime safety and security in the Indo-Pacific region.

Change of command ceremony marks new chapter for USCGC Hickory (WLB 212)

Cmdr. Christopher Jasnoch has assumed command of USCGC Hickory (WLB 212) in Guam, taking over from Cmdr. Linden Dahlkemper in a change of command ceremony. Cmdr. Dahlkemper, who previously commanded USCGC Sequoia (WLB 215), successfully led her crew through various challenges and major maintenance availability, exemplifying the dedication and resilience of the U.S. Coast Guard in the Pacific region.

The Anthem Veterans Memorial Annual celebration and ceremony invite the public to honor and support veterans and their families through various activities, including tributes to different military branches and significant anniversaries. The event culminates with a unique moment at 11:11 a.m. when the sun's rays create a perfect spotlight on The Great Seal of the United States, surrounded by commemorative pavers, symbolizing the unity and respect for veterans.
