Eric Ball Sponsor for OCBA Golf Tournament

Although not a "grip it and rip it" golfer, Eric stepped up his game as the Ball Sponsor for the Annual Orange County Bar Association Charitable Fund's Judge Kenneth Lae Charity Golf Scramble. Held on April 20th at Pelican Hill Golf Club in Newport Coast, CA, the fundraiser included golf, dinner, silent auction and a raffle with proceeds benefitting law-related organizations and programs in Orange County. Says Eric, "Whether the Traut golf balls ended up in the cabbage, air mailed, or on the dance floor, helping others while having fun is a good thing."

Traut Firm Held Charity Team Building Backpack Project

Together with Operation Helping Hands, Eric, Pamela, Connor and the Traut Firm's support staff held their Charity Team Building Backpack Project on April 10, 2023. Participants assembled and helped to deliver 100 backpacks aiding the extraordinary efforts of Micah's Way, a nonprofit helping Orange County's impoverished with a support system that responds to immediate needs and helps develop self-sufficiency. The nonprofit Operation Helping Hands is dedicated to empowering the community to give back by providing hygiene items and basic necessities to the homeless, housing insecure and those in need. Says Eric, "We agree with Operation Helping Hands. Homelessness comes in all forms." Eric continues, "Helping others is the right thing to do." Eric Roasted & Toasted by OCTLC

Always a good sport and snazzy dresser, Eric was roasted and toasted until well done! The annual Orange County Trial Lawyers' Charities (OCTLC) Roast was held April 22, 2023. The crowd roared with laughter and a great time was had at Eric's expense. The OCTLC's purpose is to make a positive difference in the quality of life for people within the greater Orange County area. The organization focuses on issues related to education, children, survivors of abuse, persons with disabilities, and the homeless. Says Eric, "I was happy to do my part in support of many worthy causes." Continues Eric, "Wearing that jacket was a bonus!"

Date Set: Marcus M. Kaufman Jurisprudence Awards Dinner

On September 21, 2023 the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) will present the 2023 Marcus M. Kaufman Jurisprudence Award to Eric, Brian Burke Farrell (Banc of California, N.A) and The Honorable Glenda Sanders, Retired (JAMS).
The Jurisprudence Awards Dinner will be held at the Turnip Rose Promenade at 1570 Scenic Ave in Costa Mesa, CA. The event is an ADL Orange County/Long Beach fundraiser with proceeds supporting their work on the front lines protecting the Jewish people and all marginalized groups right here in our region. Pamela Volunteers as Moot Court Judge!

In late April, Pamela volunteered as a Moot Court Judge for her alma mater, Western State College of Law. As part of their Legal Writing course, the students are required to participate in oral arguments in front of 3 Moot Court Appellate Justices. As the Presiding Justice, Pamela heard a case involving Title IX - sexual harassment between students at a high school. Says Pamela, "In all, there were 5 teams that we judged and they were all excellent."

It's a Baby Girl's Baby Shower!

On Sunday, April 23rd, Pamela and Eric hosted a wonderful baby shower for Eric's daughter, Jaclyn, in Aliso Viejo, CA. The expectant mom, who is glowing, is due May 28th with a baby girl to be added to a family eager to welcome her.

Kudos to Pamela for planning the shower and decorating the house for 28 friends and family members in attendance. Asks Eric, " Can you spoil a grandchild too much?"

Spring is in the air and so is baseball season. It's batter up for avid Angel's fans, Eric and Pamela. This particular night at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim included 9 innings, a few strikes and fouls, a fly over, the Vlads, a big screen appearance, and was the start of the 2023 World Series run.

Eric Receives Heartfelt Thanks from Client!

Eric received sincere gratitude and thanks when a settlement was reached in April for a client who suffered personal injury from a tragic church bus rollover in 2016. Filed in San Bernardino County Superior Courts, this third round of mediation named South Bay Ford, Inc as a defendant. Wrote Eric's client, "Oh my God!! THANK YOU!!!! Thank you for all your hard work. I will finally get the closure I have been longing for and move forward and continue healing with my family. I will forever be grateful to you, Eric."

This was quite a learning experience. I learned that you don't eat at a wonderful restaurant while battling a slow moving kidney stone.

Since I only made it through a round of appetizers before having to leave, my review is limited to those two items and the ambiance. Both the hummus and Szechuan chicken lettuce wraps are delicious and have very powerful blends of flavor. These two in particular provide a wonderful contrast.

The space is remarkable. Along one wall is a gallery of original artwork highlighted with Bocci light installation. The nearly 10,000 square feet has an open patio and retractable sections of ceiling. While you wait for a table, you can relax at the large fire pit. After you are greeted by a server with a glass of champagne upon check in, the service and staff only get better. Engaging, smiling, and helpful with the menu are perfect descriptions of the two servers who waited on us.

Bravo Joey!!! Your success is well-deserved. And I promise to return when I don't have a knife being jabbed into my torso.

Andrea Molina

In early January 2023, Andrea Molina began working at Traut Firm as a Legal Assistant. Her previous experience as an Instructional Aide for SAUSD and in various areas of law: family property, real estate, construction defect, and immigration allowed Andrea to jump right into the firm’s busy workflow.

In no time at all, Andrea’s work ethic and smarts earned her a promotion to Paralegal. Currently, her responsibilities include preparing and filing lawsuits, service of process, discovery, drafting demands, negotiating liens as well as case management. To top it off, Andrea is a student at UCI. She will graduate in June of 2023 with a degree in Cognitive Science.

In her spare time, Andrea enjoys cuddling up at home with her cat. On the weekends, Andrea volunteers at human rights organizations and helps with filing work permits and DACA renewals. She also volunteers at Human Options, a domestic violence shelter. Andrea is currently on the hunt for Orange County’s best margarita. (When she finds it, we’ll let you know!)

As a recent hire at Traut Firm, Andrea has enjoyed her introduction to personal injury law. She has found her coworkers approachable, supportive, and willing to help. Says Andrea, “Working at Traut Firm is great.” She continues, “My work has never felt scary or overwhelming, and I really appreciate everyone here for that.”
