Hello CWOs!



I am happy to announce that Tina Flack, YN1 (RET) has joined your staff at CWOA as my Executive Assistant. 



In September 2022,  Tina, retired from the Coast Guard as a YN1. Prior to joining the CG she served 6 years in the Air Force as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Montgomery, AL. Tina left the Air Force to attend college at the University of South Carolina where she graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in English. 



After college she joined the CG and became a Yeoman. Her non-rate year, 11 months to be exact, as she is very proud of, was spent at Sector San Francisco where she struck YN under CWO (RET) Eric Lowe and CWO Gregg Hoss, both members of the CWOA. 



Once the Maritime Enforcement rate started up she was 1 of 5 females to be approved to lateral into that job. She spent some time at MSST NY (911), Staten Island, NY, and was selected to be on the Commandant's Protective Service Detail in Washington, DC.  Once ADM Papp retired she returned back to the YN rate and spent the next few years at CG Recruiting Command. 



Upon advancing to YN1 she was transferred to SFO Valdez, AK where she worked for, CWOA Life Member, CWO Jeffery Timberlake. Even though Tina was born and raised in Downeast Maine she quickly realized that AK had entirely too much snow and cold weather for her. She quickly was approved to become a highly successful Recruiter in Wilmington, NC, where the beach climate suited her much better. 



Her final assignment was at Buzzards Bay/Cape Cod, MA where she retired. Shortly after retiring the VA declared her 100% P&T disabled. So she took some time and traveled around and reconnected with family. 



Now she has decided it's time to utilize her many years of CG and admin experience to become our Executive Assistant.

+ Process Certificate requests

+ Membership questions/updates

+ CWOA Newsletters

+ and many other various items
