Participate in the PROMISE CARE Study

The PROMISE CARE study is a NIHR funded study that aims to understand the issues around delivering high quality long-term care following bariatric surgery from the perspectives of patients, healthcare professionals and commissioners.

Part of the study involves interviews with healthcare professionals and commissioners working in bariatric services or primary care to explore their experiences and views on the long-term care of patients who have had bariatric surgery. We are keen to hear from both primary and secondary care healthcare professionals and from the different professional groups who are involved in the care of these patients.

We are looking for participants in these interviews. This would involve participating in a 1:1 interview with a member of the research team.  We would expect it to take no more than an hour of your time. Reimbursement for the time you spend in the interview will be available on request.

More detailed information is provided in the Participant Information SheetIf you wish to take part, please email the research team at [email protected] or return a completed Expression of Interest Form to the research team.

    Supporting Patients with Dementia

The Pharmacist spoke to Nathan Davies, principal investigator on a University College London study, about his research into how primary care pharmacists can support patients with dementia and their carers.

He suggests that there is a 'huge role' for pharmacists to support patients with dementia. Although it is early days in terms of this research you can read some of study's findings so far in the full article.

We know that pharmacists traditionally haven't been included in research as much as they should be, especially these types of studies.

To share your experience of working as a clinical pharmacist in primary care – whether you work with patients with dementia or not – please contact Dr Abi Woodward for further information
