The Search

It's not too late to join!

All are welcome – Dinner included – No cost

Each session begins with a simple dinner at 5:30pm. After dinner, participants watch a video and then openly discuss the most important questions of life.

The Search is a discussion series that tackles the key questions of every human heart. Guided by Chris Stefanick and experts from multiple fields of science, medicine, psychology, art and religion, participants will examine our place in the larger story of existence.

Week Two – March 11th: Who are you?

If you’re just a body, then satisfaction in life should come from tending to simple bodily needs. Fill your stomach, be comfortable. But there’s more to you then that. To find clues as to the meaning of life, we first look at ourselves. Who am I? Is there more to us than meets the eye? We talk with neuroscientists, psychologists, composers, and artists to examine the mystery of you.

Week Three – March 18th: Why a God?

All through human history man has looked to something outside himself for the answers to life. But, has science has disproven Him? Is our world better off without him? We talk with astrophysicists, chemists, Harvard professors, and more to make the case that it’s not only reasonable to believe in God, it’s essential if you want to have a truly amazing life.

Friday March 11th, 18th, 25th,
April 1st, 8th and 22nd

All sessions held at

St. Joseph Church Parish Hall

Our church thrives and the Good News is lived out when disciples come forward to share their time and talent. As things in our parish start up again, it's a great time to consider how you may be called to serve our community. Out church has a great number of ministries to get involved in:

Altar Server, Children's Liturgy, Hospitality, Lector, Choir member, Welcome Desk, Minister of Communion in the church or to the sick, The St. Vincent de Paul Society (food bank), Development and Peace, Catholic Women's League, Knights of Columbus, Church Cleaner, Yard Care, Sacrament Preparation, Youth Group, etc...

This lent, consider checking out how you might get involved, help share the Good News and grow as a disciple.

Learn more about getting involved or share your interest with us

Here's a few places where help is especially needed

Welcoming our guests

The doors of our church is where all receive their first impression of our community and how we live out the call to invite all into our worship.

Our welcome desk is not just a place to purchase religious articles, but is a centre where guests and parishioners can arrange Mass intentions, get questions answered and take further steps in their faith. However, help is needed to man this desk.

Keeping our church clean

Give thanks to God and contribute to our Sunday worship by helping keep our place of worship clean.

The church cleaning ministry serves after every Saturday morning Mass. This is one of the easiest ways to get engaged with the activities of our parish. It's a great way to get to know other members of our parish too.

Children's Liturgy

A vibrant children’s ministry provides a community of faith for kids. Children’s liturgy brings the Bible to life in ways that children can grasp so they can come to know that God loves and cares about them.

All teaching materials will be provided with full training and support from your Pastoral Team.

Can you help?

Everyone is welcome, great way for students to earn their community hours.

St. Joe's EDGE Youth Group - Grade 5-8

Image description

Edge, our parish youth ministry, is for students in grades 5 through 8.

Youth meet every second Wednesday from 6:30pm to 8:00pm in the church hall.

Leading up to Easter, youth will explore 'The Invitation'. Who does Jesus invite to follow him? What is the cost of following him? Where can the disciples of Jesus find strength? Through video, games and discussion, participants will explore what it means to be a disciple.

Next gatherings are: March 23rd, April 6th and 20th.

Indigenous Delegation to Rome, March 28th to April 1st

The Catholic Bishops of Canada are profoundly saddened by the residential school legacy and remain fully committed to working with Indigenous Peoples and communities across the country to support healing and reconciliation. The Pope had been prepared to welcome a delegation of leaders from indigenous communities of Canada this past December, but this encounter had to be postponed.

However, The Canadian Catholic Bishops, Assembly of First Nations, Métis National Council, and Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami are pleased to announce that the delegation to Rome to meet with Pope Francis, originally planned for December 2021, is now scheduled to take place at the end of March and early April of this year.

This Lent, let’s put people and planet first

Madagascar: an ecological village to cope with climate change

Development and Peace’s People and Planet Firstcampaign celebrates what solidarity can achieve, even against seemingly impossible odds.

In Madagascar, for instance, Development and Peace’s partner, the Development Council of Andohatapenaka (CDA), empowers people to manage and transform their neighbourhoods.

In the capital region, which is afflicted by flooding and poor waste management, CDA has helped the residents of one vulnerable area to turn their environs into a thriving ecological village. Today, each of the 50 households involved in the project has a vegetable garden, a stove and solar panels. This transformation reflects a true ecological conversion.

Year of the Family Speaker Series

Presented by the Diocese of Hamilton

In Amoris Laetitia, Pope Francis writes: “The Synod process allowed for an examination of the situation of families in today’s world, and thus for a broader vision and a renewed awareness of the importance of marriage and the family. The complexity of the issues that arose revealed the need for continued open discussion of a number of doctrinal, moral, spiritual, and pastoral questions (2).” Our speaker series is designed to be educational and uplifting to provide support for each person on their journey. The series is a great opportunity to learn more about oneself, but, as importantly, to take part in and become familiar other members of the Diocesan family.

Keep in your thoughts and prayers...

Those who have died, especially...
Sr. Edna Viloria, Vince Merry
Lois Auger, Peter Helm
Verna Michel, Vincent Merry,

Warren McIntosh and Ruth Lawson

and those who are sick, especially...

Pauline Schumacher, Shane Maingot
Luke Maingot, Ainsley Richmond
Annie Maas, Pilar Viloria
Lynn Wainman, Heather Haug
and Bob Gibson

Jesus, Our Lord, we ask you to have mercy on all who are sick. Give them your strength and love and help them carry this cross with faith. May their sufferings be one with yours, overcome the power of evil and lead others to our Father in Heaven. Lord Jesus, hear our prayer, for you are Lord forever and ever. Amen.
