Why Are We Here?  What’s Life All About?

What Happens When We Die?

All are welcome – Dinner included – No cost

Each session begins with a simple dinner at 5:30pm. After dinner, participants watch a video and then openly discuss the most important questions of life.

The Search is a discussion series that tackles the key questions of every human heart. Guided by Chris Stefanick and experts from multiple fields of science, medicine, psychology, art and religion, participants will examine our place in the larger story of existence.

Week One – March 4th: What do you Seek?

With open hearts we begin with the question “what do you seek?” What is that deep longing in our hearts all about? We all live for something and strive for that something that is ultimately going to make us happy. But what is it?

Week Two – March 11th: Who are you?

If you’re just a body, then satisfaction in life should come from tending to simple bodily needs. Fill your stomach, be comfortable. But there’s more to you then that. To find clues as to the meaning of life, we first look at ourselves. Who am I? Is there more to us than meets the eye? We talk with neuroscientists, psychologists, composers, and artists to examine the mystery of you.

Help keep our church clean

Image description

Everyone is Welcome, mask required

One concrete way to give thanks for what God gives us is to help keep our place of worship, the centre of our faith community, clean. This cleaning ministry allows a special connection to our Lord in prayer and service.

The church cleaning ministry serves after every Saturday morning Mass. This is one of the easiest ways to get engaged with the activities of our parish and to contribute to our Sunday worship. If you are new and want to get to know other members of our parish, this is a wonderful ministry to take part in.

All material is provided. Just join after any Saturday morning Mass.

Keep in your thoughts and prayers...

Those who have died, especially...
Sr. Edna Viloria, Nicolas Rubejes
Vince Merry, Lois Auger
Peter Helm and  Verna Michel

and those who are sick, especially...

Pauline Schumacher, Shane Maingot
Luke Maingot, Ainsley Richmond
Annie Maas, Pilar Viloria
Lynn Wainman, Heather Haug
Warren McIntosh and Bob Gibson

Jesus, Our Lord, we ask you to have mercy on all who are sick. Give them your strength and love and help them carry this cross with faith. May their sufferings be one with yours, overcome the power of evil and lead others to our Father in Heaven. Lord Jesus, hear our prayer, for you are Lord forever and ever. Amen.

Indigenous Delegation to Rome, March 28th to April 1st

The Catholic Bishops of Canada are profoundly saddened by the residential school legacy and remain fully committed to working with Indigenous Peoples and communities across the country to support healing and reconciliation. The Pope had been prepared to welcome a delegation of leaders from indigenous communities of Canada this past December, but this encounter had to be postponed.

However, The Canadian Catholic Bishops, Assembly of First Nations, Métis National Council, and Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami are pleased to announce that the delegation to Rome to meet with Pope Francis, originally planned for December 2021, is now scheduled to take place at the end of March and early April of this year.

This Lent, let’s put people and planet first

Development and Peace: a movement of solidarity

Established in 1967, Development and Peace ― Caritas Canada is the official international solidarity organization of the Catholic Church in Canada.

We partner with organizations in the Global South that promote alternatives to unjust social, political and economic structures and support women in their quest for equality and justice.

With the help of our 11,000+ volunteer members, we inform Canadians about the root causes of impoverishment and mobilize them to act for change. Our Lenten campaign, People and Planet First, offers you the opportunity to help protect vulnerable communities and ecosystems from corporate abuse.

Year of the Family Speaker Series

Presented by the Diocese of Hamilton

In Amoris Laetitia, Pope Francis writes: “The Synod process allowed for an examination of the situation of families in today’s world, and thus for a broader vision and a renewed awareness of the importance of marriage and the family. The complexity of the issues that arose revealed the need for continued open discussion of a number of doctrinal, moral, spiritual, and pastoral questions (2).” Our speaker series is designed to be educational and uplifting to provide support for each person on their journey. The series is a great opportunity to learn more about oneself, but, as importantly, to take part in and become familiar other members of the Diocesan family.
