Opportunities!

The second half of our Toastmasters 2021-2022 program year is FULL of great opportunities for learning and growing—both professionally and personally. Please take a moment to review all of these opportunities!

Club Officer Training

We have 8 more club officer training sessions available. All club officers were emailed a notice with the upcoming training dates along with registration links. Here is the link to the notice in case you missed it. Officers, if you have not already attended round two of training, we look forward to seeing you soon! And, you can attend the upcoming Winter TLI and receive credit for club officer training. You will need to attend the three educational sessions for the training credit.

Winter Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI)

We will be announcing the full program soon, but you DO NOT want to miss our Winter TLI, which is FREE, online, and open to everyone (including your family, friends, colleagues, guests...). The morning begins with a KEYNOTE from 2021 World Champion of Public Speaking, Verity Price, who will share “How to Write a Winning Speech”. The morning continues with 3 educational sessions and an awards ceremony. Register today! Click into the image below for more details.

Contest Season!

Our two categories this year are Tall Tales and International. Over the weekend our District Executive Council voted to hold all Area, Division and District contests online. Why? In the fall, our District Council voted to hold our Area, Division, and the District contests in person with the understanding that we could change to online contests if deemed necessary. According to Toastmasters International, we cannot start one level of contests, for example, Area contests, online and then pivot to in person for our higher-level contests – all Area, Division, and the District contests have to be conducted either all in person or all online. With the Area contests taking place first and with the current state of affairs, the decision was made to move all contests online.

Our Areas, Divisions, and the District are looking for Toastmasters who wish to serve in the various contest roles. We need Toastmasters, Contest Chairs, Chief Judges, Judges, Timers, Ballot Counters and more! Reach out to your Area, Division Directors, or to PQD, Linda Dorn if you are interested in volunteering OR you can fill out this form. You may be able to complete a Pathways project for your contest role. For full details on contests, you can check out our helpful contest resources page, which includes the official Toastmasters International Contest Rulebook on the D6 website.

District 6 Help Wanted

We are looking for a Logistics Manager for this program and MANY roles for next program year, especially Area Directors! You are invited to review the opportunities here. I have grown in my time management, project management, communication, and leadership skills by serving as an Area Director, Division Director, Club Growth Director, and now as the Program Quality Director. I have also been blessed by many mentors who have helped guide me in these roles. Won’t you consider joining the 2022-2023 team? We’d love to have you!

District 6 Business Meeting and Contest

We have two important dates that we’d like you to save on your calendars. Our District 6 business meeting will be held online (as required by Toastmasters International) on Saturday, April 23 from 9 AM – Noon. This is VERY important as we will get to know the candidates for our 2022-2023 program year via the candidate showcase and then vote for our leaders for the next program year. We’ll also conduct our business meeting. More details to come. Please also save the evening of Thursday, April 28 from 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM for our online District 6 Tall Tales and International contests. More details to come regarding the District 6 conference.
