Pandemic brings home the necessity of broadband
Broadband service is an essential infrastructure for this country.... Broadband is an essential infrastructure in Indiana, too. Last spring, Gov. Eric Holcomb directed $250 million to expand access to schools and rural health clinics. Grants were made available for students to pay for faster internet access. |

Todd Rokita and another tale of turpitude
Here in Indiana, if something like that happened, almost all the voters Attorney General Todd Rokita is determinedly, zealously, fanatically pursuing would expire. (So, for that matter, would the reactionary know-nothing caucus in the Indiana House of Representatives.) Rokita is something special.

Brian Howey: A feud atop Indiana government in a time of crisis
This comes as close to 19,000 Hoosiers have died from COVID. A feud atop our state government is the last thing we need during this crisis. Culture Warrior
“I think we’ve got to stop critical race theory which teaches our kids that America is inherently racist or evil. It doesn’t belong in our schools. I hope we pass a bill when we get the majority back that would block any federal taxpayer dollars from going to any school in America that teaches our kids to hate America.” |

6 in 10 Americans say U.S. democracy is in crisis as the 'big lie' takes root

‘LIKE IT NEVER HAPPENED’
While the House is uglier and more rancorous, senators say they’ve felt little change in the one year since the attack. |

Biden’s words on voting rights meet call to action after 1/6
Now, as the anniversary of that deadly day nears, the president is being urged to reorder priorities and use the powers of his office to push voting rights legislation that its adherents say could be the only effective way to counter the rapidly emerging threats to the democratic process.

DOJ may have already made arrests of senior Trump associates
Attorney General Merrick Garland has received harsh criticism for apparently not having indicted any top Trump associates for the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. But one national security expert argued on Sunday that we might not know if arrests have occurred.

Meet the scariest Republican candidates of 2022
