About Rahul
Rahul Patel is a researcher in contemporary art history and theory.
He designs and curates exhibitions which include, Harry Jacobs, Studio Photographer in 2012 at Morley Gallery, London. The Devils Feast Exhibition, 1987, an exploration into the African-Caribbean, Asian and African Art in Britain Archive, Chelsea College of Art Library in 2015. He co-led on Reading Collections: The African-Caribbean, Asian and African Art in Britain Archive and Decolonising Narratives. He co-curated the Decolonising the Arts Curriculum: Perspectives on Higher Education zine1and 2 with UAL Arts Students Union and a series of exhibitions across the University of the Arts London (UAL). He has a forthcoming chapter with Lucy Panesar on decolonising higher education in Tell it like it is: How our schools fail Black Children, edited by Brian Richardson. He has organised and chaired a successful series with invited speakers called Challenging Times – Global Pandemic, Black Lives Matter and the Climate and Ecological Emergency in the last year for the Culture and Enterprise Programme at Central Saint Martins, UAL.
