Pray a Novena to Conclude the Year of St. Joseph

The Year of Saint Joseph comes to an end on December 8th. To conclude this year dedicated to the patron saint of father, our nation and parish, consider offering up a novena. Here's a novena you can download, print and pray at home.

Snow is coming!

Help keep the walkways of our church safe and clear!

Image description

Looking to earn a few extra dollars this winter? A position is now open for a seasonal snow removal technician. The individual hired for this job will be responsible for keeping the steps and walkways of our church clear of snow and ice. This will involve shovelling, operating a two stage snow blower, spreading salt and sand where necessary and keeping a log. Salt, sand and all tools and equipment will be provided. Hours will vary depending on weather, but it is critical that steps and walkways be clear before all events held in our church. Potential candidates for this position will need to have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine or submit a weekly rapid test.

Up to the job? Submit a resume to Fr. Craig by Monday, November 29th. Resumes can be dropped off through the mail slot of the office or emailed to Fr. Craig.

Serve

2021-2023 Synod for a Synodal Church

Image description

Pope Francis has announced that in preparation for the next Synod of Bishops, there will be a worldwide conversation in the Church or a "synod" about community, engaged participation, and the mission of evangelization. This conversation will follow a two-year path and involve the People of God - everyone, everywhere. All are invited to join in prayer as we begin this synodal conversation and unite it with the Diocesan Pastoral Planning Process.

Join the conversation!

Pope Francis hopes that the synod will inspire conversation and discussion over some topics and challenges relevant to the life of the Church in the world today. For each of the next eight weeks, all are invited to join the discussion online by contributing to three questions that change week to week.

This week's synod questions...

How do we support our members in reflection and in their growth in faith and formation?

How do we promote the active participation of all the faithful in the liturgy?

How does our prayer and worship inspire and guide our common journey?

Have some thoughts?

See what others have to say and share your thoughts
Please keep in your thoughts and prayers...

those who have died, especially...

Howie Methot, John Lawson,
Aurelia Rubejes, Anna Hall,
Brigida Perater-Aguilos & Peter Helm

and those who are sick, especially...

Margaret Jamieson, Kelly Smigielski,
Mary Hofbauer, Ruth Lawson,
Annie Maas & Manuel Gerna

Jesus, Our Lord, we ask you to have mercy on all who are sick. Give them your strength and love and help them carry this cross with faith. May their sufferings be one with yours, overcome the power of evil and lead others to our Father in Heaven. Lord Jesus, hear our prayer, for you are Lord forever and ever. Amen.

Now, more than ever, moms are feeling isolated and are craving connections. A Catholic moms’ group allows women to connect with other moms, topics of interest, topics that impact their personal selves and God; it provides both support and encouragement. Beyond that, moms’ groups help develop friendships with other moms providing proven mental health benefits and is a way of drawing women together to form a stronger sense of parish community.

Join us for a Zoom session on Tuesday November 30, at 7pm to learn more about what, where, when and why of starting a moms’ group and hear information on the material available to provide support.

We will welcome Mrs. Dorothy Pilarski, who spearheaded this ministry in the Archdiocese of Toronto in 2015, to this gathering and she will share with us the excellent detailed online website she has created to provide support. This is a chance to see the website and hear the overview of all the materials and support available from her Catholic Moms Groups website.

This session will be an information sharing session open to anyone interested in starting a parish mom's group.

Journey through Advent with the CCCB

For the next five weeks beginning this weekend, the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB ) will release a video recording reflecting on the Gospel Reading for each Sunday.

Tune in each week for the 5-week series, 'Indigenous Peoples and the Church: Walking Together Toward Healing and Reconciliation'.
