Wrapping Up a Busy Fall

Fall is a hectic time of year at Nourish. From delivering thousands of Nourish Your Roots boxes for school fundraisers around the province, to facilitating conversations with youth at Devour! The Food Film Fest, to running our biggest fundraiser through the Blue Nose Charity Challenge—all the while re-engaging with partners to help with their food programming.

Children and youth are at the core of our work, so what better way to end our busiest season than to let them take the lead? At the end of November, we will be launching our fourth-annual ReelTalk event: an interactive youth-led showcase featuring short films about food from young filmmakers.

Nourish Your Roots 2021 Exclusive Recipe

If you purchased a Nourish Your Roots box this year, you already received this amazing recipe for Spiced Chickpeas with Roasted Root Veggies created by NSCC Culinary Management student Kush Rao.

This recipe comes courtesy of our partnership with the NSCC Culinary Skills program. Students from the plant-based cuisine class use Nourish Your Roots boxes as inspiration for a delectable local meal and we bring the winning recipe to you. Now that Nourish Your Roots is over, we want to share this recipe with the world!

The land on which Nourish Nova Scotia operates is Mi'kma'ki, the unceded ancestral territory of the Mi'kmaq people.
