At National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Finger Lakes affiliate, we provide advocacy, education and support for families of people living with mental illness. In our weekly e-news, we share events and resources of interest to our mental health community. You'll find more resources and information at our website namifingerlakes.org.

NAMI FL Challenge
NAMI Finger Lakes Family Support Group

NAMI FL Family Support Group currently meets in Zoom online:

In order to have a safe and manageable group size that maintains privacy to the best of our ability in an in an online format, groups will be limited to 10 people. Please register soon for best availability.


First Tuesday of the month 7:00 PM-8:30 PM- (October 6th)
Third Monday of the month 1:30 PM-3:00 PM- (October 19th)


If you need support now, please call the NAMI Finger Lakes Help Line at 607-273-2642. Our Help Line is answered by local NAMI family members who have experience with loved ones living with mental illness.

The NAMI National HelpLine can be reached Monday through Friday, 10 am–6 pm, ET- at 1-800-950-NAMI (6264) or [email protected]

The NAMI HelpLine  is a free, nationwide peer-support service providing information, resource referrals and support to people living with a mental health conditions, their family members and caregivers, mental health providers and the public. HelpLine staff and volunteers are experienced, well-trained and able to provide guidance.

NAMI FINGER LAKES FAMILY TO FAMILY CLASS TO BEGIN THIS FALL

NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session education program for family, friends and significant others of people living with mental health conditions. To learn more visit: namifingerlakes.org/education


NAMI Finger Lakes Family to Family will be held online via ZOOM on Sunday afternoons 4:00-6:30 PM beginning November 1st and running through December 20th.



Class size will be limited to maintain a positive online learning experience. For more information and to register, please leave a message at 607-288-2460 or email [email protected]


NAMI Family-to-Family provides information about anxiety, depressive disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other mental health conditions. Other topics covered include communication, problem solving, treatment and recovery.



The course is designed to increase understanding and advocacy skills while helping participants maintain their own well-being. The program is taught by trained family members who have a loved one with a mental health condition. NAMI Family-to-Family is an evidence-based program (EB).
